I have the following for sale, it is a European CD-ROM based MFD2 Navigation system that will fit the new B6 Passats, MkV Jettas (2005.5+) and the new Golf GTi and upcoming VW Golfs. The system has been updated to the North American Firmware (US and Canada). Included in the sale will be a complete set of Navigation CD's, the system is very easy to install takes about 20min, basically plug and play.
I am asking $1050 for the total system plus shipping.
The system is hard to tell from new, it really is in excellent condition.
I have had a few FAQ's so let me make some clarifications:
- These units can play music cd's
- They do not play DVD's
- I do not know about sat radio
- You can get an after market Multi Media Adapter or the VW Ipod adapter will work.
- System will work in Canada

This unit is less than a week and half old. I have just decided to go with another unit. I was thinking aftermarket or something else. I have a verified paypal account in good standing.

Has this been taken from your Golf GTI?

No UK maps, only the US including canada. You would have to purchase the uk maps from vw or I have seen a few reseller's over there on the web. the unit is plug in play I kid you not. took me all of 15-25 min to install. Works great. I took the picture above with it in my car, and have only been using it for about a week maybe 2 weeks. And yes it was in my VW GTI 2006 which is only 3 weeks old.

correct me if I'm wrong, but this is a 2nd hand unit. It didn't come installed in your vehicle from the dealer right?
1. Your in San Jose, CA and you say it's a "European" Navigation system that has been updated to North American firmware??? If it was OEM then it wouldn't need to be updated.
2. You say "took me all of 15-25 min to install"??? If it was in the car when you bought it why did you have to install it?
3. You say "have only been using it for about a week maybe 2 weeks" but then you say "my VW GTI 2006 which is only 3 weeks old" so did you install it after you had the car for a week or two???
I'm not sure, and I'm not trying to say anything but it looks to me that you purchased this unit on eBay or something, installed it and have decided it's not for you. There's nothing wrong with that and the price your asking is reasonable, just trying to get the full story.

Whats the difference between the US firmware and the European one? I am in Australia so Im thinking our ones would be using the European firmware since we get the Euro spec GTIs?

Jesus fucking christ. theres one on every forum.
1. its an OEM part from Europe. I bought it from a guy on vwvortex who did the upgrade before shipping to me and provided the 9 cdroms.
2. no a 6 disc cd changer mp3 stereo was in there when I bought it with my package 2 GTI.
3. I installed it about 1.5 weeks after buying my car. Which still doesnt have plates on it.
I purchased it from a good guy the unit is in perfect condition with no flaws. Yes I decided I could afford the extra money and get the DVD US version of the nav unit. The unit works good and I guarante that this unit will not be DOA and will work with your MKV GTI. I am just being picky and unlike most people I can afford to be. In fact if the new one doesnt meet my needs I will just go with an aftermarket deck been looking at the pioneer avic z1 (retail 3000).
Long story short I have used it for a little over 2 weeks now and its a good nav in fact whats kinda cool is it displays the street names on the LCD in your gauge cluster. As well as the compass. Now I figure my use of it is worth 100$ discount as I paid 1100.

there's one what???
person who knows :bs: when they see it. If you had originally admitted the navi was 2nd hand it would have been all good. The way you worded it, I felt you were trying to say it came OEM with your car. WHICH IT DIDN't. This quote is the icing on the cake "I purchased it from a good guy." let me guess he had a long beard and a halo around his head.
I'm just watching out for my community, and I'm sure the unit is fine, just don't slang shit here without being totally upfront.

oem to my hands yeah I guess your right 2nd hand. wow. never thought of it that way. I guess my car is just 2nd hand as well. since it went from VW to my local dealership to me.

VW ---- Dealership ---- You (1st owner) = First Hand
VW ---- Dealership ---- "Good Guy" ---- You (2nd Owner) = 2nd hand
Again, it's a good deal, and I'd probablly buy it myself if I didn't already have a NAVI. Just trying to clarify.

No doubt. We dont need "Heros" here. Just assume everyone here is able to look out for themselves Hlanta,
I understood perfectly clear.
