Remus and Milltek are the only companies that make a quad for the GTI so far...or are there others?

Remus is very expensive, on top of just the muffler you have to buy the tips as well, which is another $200 or so. Looks really nice, really high-quality stuff, but expensive.

GHL has an R32 central exhaust if I understood you correctly.
You will need the R32 bumper though.

as far as the actual exhaust goes, it's a turbo back and it will improve performance and sound. The location of the center pipes is for show.

Sounds a little different than the clip in the first post, not as loud. I know Remus has two different mid sections, one that is straight pipe, the other has a front silencer/resonator...this one doesn't seem as loud, perhaps it has the front silencer? :iono: Either way, it sounds good.

I really want to hear some Remus clips from a drive by at WOT, driveby cruising, and also a launch.

I finally got my exhaust done. I have a 3" ATP downpipe, Magnaflow 200 cell cat, 3" Mandrel piping, and a magnaflow muffler. Got it done at a local shop, I had it with no cat at first and it was Really loud, and obviously the Ck engine light came on, and it ran really rich, so i had a cat put back on. Didnt notice Any diff. in performance at all. Anyways, heres a short vid. Hope you guys like it. Thx

I think I've decided on the AWE TBE. A local guy got one but I haven't had the chance to hear it yet. I'd also like to see (in person) how good/bad it fits. I'd like to see how it 'looks' with a Votex rear too since that is what I have.

Just put it in yesterday. I need to get some sound clips of it driving by, but here it is at idle and rev. Very mellow exhaust, I like it a LOT. Oh, this is with no other exhaust modifications.

I think the TT TBE sounds great - might be my favorite. I wish there were some sound clips of just the TT catback and/or just the DP though since either one will mate to the stock other. I think most of the quality exhaust's will not give you major high speed drone. If you check out the decibel reports from AWE, Autotech, etc. you'll see at low rpm's the interior sound levels are almost identical to stock.

hey man, yes, its the full AWE TBE with the 200-cell metal cat. and yes, its a modified GTI exhaust. why? b/c i bought this one month old AWE TBE from my boy after he traded his car for a mazdaspeed 6 for 600 bucks. and yes, 600 bucks for a 1 month, 500 mile old AWE TBE. the exhaust was still breakin in when i got it. but yes again, its modified and sounds freaking great! and it gives me real good numbers!

Sounds really nice, but $800 bucks MSRP? Even if you could get it for less, it still won't be ~$400 like the Autotech catback.

I know they make top notch stuff though, as I've seen and heard them on C5 and C6 Vette's. That C6 ZO6 with headers/cam/exhaust sounded wicked on their site.

Very true, but i my have to swing a couple of extra bucks for better quality and sound. The aftermarket exhausts are basiclly for sound, if you are looking for power then you do a downpipe. I am thinking a corsa and ATP down pipe combo for a sweet sound and a nice amount of power. :biggrin: .

I dont know, that is not my video. I did notice that you hear the turbo alot more, thats partially why i like that exhaust :biggrin: .

Hey, my friend and I (Raphael) went to take some videos tonight of my exhaust. Mods are in signature. The last video is of his car. He wasn't trying to shift fast. He has P flo, the APR stock mode from the trial he had, and stock exhaust with resonator delete. It sounds very similar, mine is just a lot louder. I know that is hard to tell though because of volume control. Quality isn't the best, but the sound is pretty accurate.

Oh, in the first video, I had just started my car; that's why I didn't rev it too high. I had it running a few hours prior, so it wasn't completely warm, but you can see the whitish/blue smoke coming out of it. I'm almost positive that's the sign that my PCV is bad, especially as I'm holding only 15psi with Stg 2.

First off this thread is stickied. It's under the "baby engine/exhaust" topic under engine/drivetrain/exhaust. the apr stealth is just referring to the catback portion. the downpipes on the stealth and sport version are identical. but apr has a new exhaust out now called the rsc.

I like the sound very much! But I am living in Germany and I think the system is not allowed to run here:cry: We have an organisation called the "TÜV". They need a certificate to make sure that the system is allowed to run on this car. Does anyone know if this system can be legal runed in Germany?

3" catless DP, stock resonator, muffler delete done with the stock mandrel bent pipe off another GTI exhaust. Sounds MUCH better in person. No drone, only slightly louder cruising and idling, has a deep tone and sounds mean when you open it up.

The stock muffler is probably around 20lbs shed, and there's noticeable topend gains from removing it.

Is the resonator in a good place where a cherry bomb glass pack can be installed instead of a straight pide? I got the same thing in a mazda 3 and there are no issues. Has anybody tried this on their GTI?

one simple question which is the quietest Turbo back? is difficult to know which one is hearing the videos. I must use a Cat with the Downpipe.

Yup, as it is in the USA. But I think Supersprint is even more. Hell, APR's not cheap either.

I got lucky with my TBE. Catless ATP DP for $320 shipped new, and an Autotech CB with the Magnaflow muffler for $230 used. So I've got a TBE that should have been $470 shipped for a new CB plus $320. So $790 instead of what I paid, $550.

By quiet I think they mean "little drone". It doesn't sound that loud in the cabin but it sounds pretty aggressive outside of it.

i dont think theyre worth it seriously, id stick to another aftermarket downpipe because based on the price i bought my arqray catback for, it'll just too much money.

If I could afford Supersprint I'd go with them, hands down. Best build quality I've ever seen, and they make great power without being too obnoxious with sound.

Still settling down from moving in with my gf and still have my Jun bl and BSH engine mounts waiting to be installed. My jacks and everything is at other place still and I got Clear for internet service here and have had nothing but problems and limited connectivity.:frown: I return their modems tomorrow and go back to COX. Hopefully can get some of these clips with my dp up soon.
