Im looking for a downpipe that I wont have to switch back out for smog, in other words I like a good cat with it, does the ATP 3" downpipe for $300 come with a cat? If not, what do you offer that for a Stainless downpipe that is smogable?

ok kool got you ok what i suggest is, actually the only other brand i can think of that has acat and down pipe combo is neuspeed and for that your looking at $1067 + shipping ill do a little more research though

It comes with a 100 cell high flow cat, which sounds good to me, and its just within my price budget. I was just looking to see if I could find something cheaper than $500. Yes, but then I lose my stock downpipe, like I already posted, I shouldnt have to spend hundreds of dollars do cut up both my OEM parts as well as the new parts Im paying for PlUS pay for a shop to do welding to get what I want. And then your cat is not stainless steel. And youre also not adding in the cost of having a shop weld in your old cat. Every shop around here will cost at least $50 and that's if they dont charge you for the job of "cutting" up your parts. I know what I want, I want a direct bolt in part. I just cant justify paying that much money to still have to finish making it myself. If I was going to do that, I might as well just pay a shop to make one from scratch, to be honest, that might be a lot cheaper.

The APR downpipe features a high-flowing 100-cell metal high flow catalyst. This exhaust is very quiet and simply changes the tone of the exhaust to a deep, unobtrusive sound. With TIG welding, fully stainless construction, and CNC'ed hangers, you will not find a higher quality system on the market.

IMO, right now the APR DP is the best aftermarket option and value for people looking for a dp with a high flow cat that fits with either the stock exhaust (with the reducer pipe) or another 3'' exhaust, like Autotech. If you don't care or need 3'', then Techtonics tuning offers what looks like a solid stainless steel dp that mates up to stock as well. I would actually prefer Autotech's 3'' dp based on reputation and price, but it doesn't look like they're moving to fast on getting it to market.

dumb question thats been haunting my brain, will a GTI catback fit a rabbit, cuz that ATP exhaust is only 400 and no rabbit exhaust price even comes close to that. I would imagine maybe its a bit different at the cat connection, but does the rest all mount up and fit the same, cuz i could weld the exhaust to the cat if thats the only problem.

The catback is entireally different from the downpipe. I doubt the catback would fit, unless the connection points are the same. But the ATP DP won't fit at all. It connects directly to the turbocharger flange, and the Rabbit's are a lot different since it's a 2.5L 5 cylinder, no turbo.

Don't order the DP, it won't work. You'd have to research more on GTI catbacks, but I'm willing to say they won't work with a Rabbit either.
