I want to get a chip when I get my gti but I also want the car to last 10 years. How is the DSG running with a chip, I will have it in stock mode alot only on tracks would I put it into a octane mode.

APR 93, running on daily basis, no problems, loving it, only 250miles tho, so far so good.

Do you expect that the car would last 10 years with no major problems like tranny failure? Turbo failure? I am thinking to get a tranny cooler when I get a gti and chip.

nope, i am not intending to keep it 10 years either. What i would do if i was keeping it for 10 years, i would leave it as is. But on the other side 2.0T is one of the best engineered motors in the world, so you make the desicion, i am pretty sure even at stock, you will have couple of things here and there around 100K+ miles

My question is do you think the tranny will blow in 10 years using a chip+ tranny cooler. I wont be driving the car like I sole it all the time......

It happened to me once at a traffic light.

Custom Turbo Back with converter and muffler see how it sound. Next mod is the chip. So, I am very interrested in the reliability of the DSG.:burnrubber:

I drove down to Seattle yesterday. Got off the freeway and smoke...:frown: Left rear brake caliper is hanging up...time for a dealer fix. Got the exhuast installed late last night. Had to try diffrent set ups for it to sound right. Will post sound clip Saturday. Basically ended up with new downpipe with aftermarket high full converter, Magnaflow resinator, and then stright pipe to the rear. Sounds great. But I may need to quiet it down, put the stock resinator back in, was take out becuse it was very quite with it in. So now the GTI has 2.5" exhaust front to rear.
