First off I am experienced with driving manuals, I am not a moron.....A lot of the time when I am casually shifting, not worried about throwing it into gear and dumping the clutch, you know normal driving, I seem to get this chattery noise. I have heard of clutch chatter but I am not exactly sure what is involved with this. It has been like this for a while and it never seemed an issue, I jsut thought maybe someone would know about this. Something to do with the kind of transmission VW uses or is this a problem? I dont know. Its not loud, I can mostly feel it in the clutch right before the plates come in fll contact with eachother, but there is a noise if you isten carefully. I didnt have this in my civic or trans ams, or my friends cars....i just seemed to notice it in the VW i dunno. any thoughts? you guys are normally pretty helpful, thanks.

I have clutch chatter all the time but I have a single mass flywheel with a stage 2 clutch.
As far as stock, I had no chatter from what I remember.

As with any car, proper technique is important. If you use proper shifting technique, you will not have clutch chatter.
