Looking to get my hood painted soon thanks to some hot glacier-scratching-the-hell-out-of-my-paint action. http://scottyb.org/images/emotes/emot-awesome.gif

Anybody know of any good places that can do the Shifty-style hood in addition to a 3M clear bra install? I kinda wanna knock them both out at once (after the paint cures, certainly). Pics of their work would help.

Thanks!

Good to know. Not planning to tint for a bit, but I'll definitely keep that in mind for my clear bra install options.

Wow, 31 views and NOBODY knows of any reputable painters? Folks must not get their cars painted too often!

Hmm, I'd like to know of a couple reputable painters for the hood thing too. But, that's something for the GTI in her later years.

Though, there are a few painters in Rockville with... quite expensive cars outside in their lot. I don't know if they're any good though.

That is VERY impressive work, and only about an hour and half from me. I don't mind driving a bit further out if the work is good. I used to visit some friends who lived close to Reisterstown (they moved to AZ), so MD isn't out of the picture.

Thanks for the info!

I moved from Reisterstown to DC; didn't know people around here knew about that place...LOL

Think a shop like that would be interested in doing something simple like a rear valence? I'd probably get laughed off the premises...

I want to get my rear and sides painted too, but I want the votex front lip...

I really like the Oettinger kit, but God, is it expensive. It'd be nice to find the entire thing for less than $2900 pre-ship/pre-paint. The only place I can find that sells it online is NA Motorsports, and the grand total hurts me.

Oh, yeah. I almost got my car from the VW dealership near Owings Mills (Heritage, I think?) because nobody around here had what I wanted. That is, until the first dealership I called mysteriously got exactly what I wanted in a few days later.

Yeah, Heritage is the place. It's not bad, but I think I'm gonna like Lindsay.

Don't you love those mystery vehicles that materialize outta nowhere? LOL

The place that found my car from out of nowhere was Lindsay. Still, the entire transaction, from trade-in to financing, was by far the easiest one I've ever been through. Might have also been because of the fact that this is my first VW. Much different than the Ford dealership out of Nashville I went to who couldn't do anything for me until I started walking out the door.

Now, if only Lindsay would hurry up and get the launch control TSB software. I should probably call and check up on that.

I should find out if my car has launch control. If not, I say we rush the joint as soon as the software is available!

Then again, I've had my car three days and I've racked up all of 40 miles. Maybe I don't deserve LC? :iono:

Lindsay is a nice dealership for sure, but it doesn't seem to be "with it" just yet...

If it's an '07, then you more than likely have it. I say try it and see!

Yeah, mine is a manual 007. I watched some LC videos and I have to admit I really didn't get it...Oh well.

Just got in from dinner in Arlington. After three days I have almost 60 miles on my car, LOL

I know a GREAT little shop to do the 3M. They've done it on all my Corvettes.

Can't remember the name but I can tell you its in Kingstowne.

I'd be looking to get my car done as well...

Interested in a possible NOVA group rate on the 3M?
