I'm not sure I quite understand what you're asking but, no, Tiptronic does not mess up your transmission - as long as you use it correctly.

Car manufactures always put transmissions in that have no R&D and are proven to mess up your car....

Tiptronic is Porsche's version of a paddle shifted automatic transmission. If you are concerned about using the semi-manual override feature that most newer automatics have; there is no reason for concern. Most don't allow you to over-rev the car anyway. DSG is a different animal again but you still don't have anything to worry about.

Yea.. I nvr shift into 6th gear, because 6th breaks your engine and your transmission, 5th too.

i believe vw considers tiptronic the manual shift gate. the specs say dsg with tiptronic and sport mode

i start the car in 4th just to keep the engine at low revs longer....Dont believe everything you hear and only half of what you see...
