Pearl effect paint

colour is diamond black. whats your opinion on pearl effect paint? how does it compare to metallic?

does it have a sporty look?

Metallic paint has bits of silvery metal mixed in, and pearl effective has bits of mica. So the first one gives off a reflective sheen, whereas the second reflects and refracts the light(irridescent and rainbow like qualities) that can give a much wider range of effects depending on the ambient light conditions.

I think the main thing with both finishes is that they have depth. Flat black is also very good with its dense, inky qualities. It tends to appear much darker than a metallic/pearl finish, and obviously lacks the depth.

I think black pearl is the GTi colour and I wouldn't consider any other at all.

well this is just for an ordinary 1.4 s. but hey, if its the closest i can get to a GTI, then so be it! :drool:
