Hi guys

First post on here but an important one (for me anyway!!)

I have a VW EOS on order with a UK dealer but I have just seen the latest photos of it and I am not overly impressed. Prices in UK for the base model (1.6 115 bhp) are around £19, 500. As well as the base model there will be the sport model (bigger alloys, sports suspension, uprated stereo) but they will be more expensive.

Ideally I would want that upgrade and to have the 2.0 model, if not the 2.0T but again the price will increase. Although there are no details yet of exactly what those prices will be I am thinking the car I actually want is probably going to cost nearer £25k.:eyebulge:

The question is then, should I hang on to see what the prices are or cancel my order and buy an R32 instead? They are £23k for the 3 door model.

What do you reckon??:help:

Unless you're concerned about fuel economy and don't mind the relatively understated looks, buy the R32 - it's engine sounds awesome!

If you're serious about the roadster EOS, then walk down to Honda and buy an S2000 instead. I luv my veedub, but agree that the EOS looks too normal and like every other CC.

Convertible or Max Performance
FWD or AWD
I4 or VR6

It depends upon what you want in a car. The price difference doesn't seem much different unless your looking at the bas EOS.

Here in the US we get the EOS with the 3.2L VR6 for about the same as the R32. But a FWD convertible is not my style. If you really like the 2.0T and FWD is fine, I'd rather get the GTI and save some money. But that's just me. Maybe a convertible is really what you want. The EOS is very nice hard top convertible. But all of those cars have trade offs. Limited space and lack of rigidity which can impact some in handling.

I second thoughts on an S2000, unless you must have more than two- passenger capacity. Excellent build quality and no leaks. Absolute blast to drive with no cowl shake.

I have an S2K and love it. Still getting a GTI when my lease runs out in three months. The EOS is just not my cup of tea. A GTI with a sunroof can do a lot to give you that "open car feeling" ... and you don't have to mess with a drophead either. Just my tuppence-worth.
