Has a guitarist on here actually played the First Act Guitar? Is it total shit? I might pick it up for sentimental reasons to add to my collection. I probably won't want it if it's no better than a Squier.
Any impressions welcomed.!>1

well I'm not a guitarist, but from the little that ive learned and heard my sister play (shes pretty good) it sounds like a nice guitar. I don't have anything to compare it to tho. At the least it looks pretty cool with all the "vw"s on it. Id suggest getting one even if it just sits on ur wall.

Its not bad. I havent taken it to get it completely setup / strobed yet but outta the box it wasnt off too much.
Action is a little high, but like I said a good setup will probably fix that.

I haven't gotten mine yet. I'm a guitarist... well, as a hobby I play acoustic mainly, and some electric. Haven't really played as much, but anyway... it is definitely better than a squier (= POS!).

Sure you can also buy gibsons and fenders at wall mart too.. or spend $4000 on a different model of the same brand somewhere else.
I spec'd a custom firstact guitar off thier web site that was gonna set me back a cool $4000 i dont think your argument has much validity. This guitar may not be as refined as say, my $800 Soundgear Bass or my $600 Jackson Stealth EX Pro guitar, but you know what ... its not that bad.

Yea First Act has some nice ass guitars. Yet they also make guitars and other instruments for smaller children to learn on. I think that its cool that they do that and they are trying to get kids started on music early.

guitars are as good as the person playing it. i haven't met a musical instrument that wasn't a piece of beauty in its own right.

I had the opportunity to play one during my last visit to my dealership,..(5k service),..I was killing time and asked to see the one in the showroom floor display case.
It is a lower end promotional guitar, nice looks and all, but nowhere does it compare to my Epiphone LP nor my Gibson LP. (then again both of my axes have custom set-ups and personal tuned actions.)
For what it is designed for and the expected useage it will get, It is a fine instrument, (as stated above),...a beauty in its own right.
I wouldn't mind having one just for the collectable value, (with the matching VN # and such), but I don't think I would take it out on a gig.
