Could someone direct me to a site that shows how to pull OEM light switch.
I want to put in a Euro switch as soon as my GTI comes in.
Thanks!

First off make sure the passenger seat is pushed all the way forward, then open the hood, then with the headlight switch in the off position "O" push on the actual switch as you turn it clockwise/to the on position, it will now just pull out. Don't forget the close the hood.

Why are you swaping out the switch for the euro one?

Thanks for the info on pulling the switch. As for why, I want to be able to turn on the running light alone and/or with fog lights.

you can have just the headlights on, without the fog lights. The foglights only go on when you pull the switch to the "out" position.

Yeah I was just thinking that - also what does the hood and passenger seat have to do with all of this or have I missed the point of the question completly :iono:

I don't think the hood part and the passenger part have anything to do with this... haha

This is one of the funniest things I have read on this site.
Good show.

Funny but there are some odd procedures with modern cars.

Of course, the euro swtich alone will not accomplish what you seek.
DRL will come on when you are in the running light position.
VAG-COM changes will be required to get what you want with your new euro switch.
